IV: 003 dad inspired some haiku

that little grunt
dad always made--
putting on my socks

dad’s armchair
hindsight is
20/40
rainy night drive –
squinting at glare
through dad’s eyes

we all help
blow out the candles –
dad’s 86th birthday

WWII
dad rather not
talk about it

the old war vet –
holding his grandson
and oxygen tank
hazy harvest moon
the face I met
when our skin was smooth

Thank you, 'Roars. I'm sorry Papa G. never got to meet his "foster grandkid" from across the lake in Toronto.
